We Gather Their Stories and

God Gathers Our Hearts.

What We Are All About

At Generations Bound, our mission is to help you discover the power of your family story. We believe that genealogy is more than names and dates—it’s about connection, healing, and belonging. Whether you're solving a decades-old mystery or simply curious about where you come from, we’re here to guide you with expert research, compassionate insight, and a whole lot of encouragement. Through simple principles and a heart-centered approach, we’ll help you uncover your roots, find meaning in your history, and gain the confidence to explore further. Because your story matters—and knowing it can change everything.

Meet Your Personal Genealogist

Hi, I’m Kathryn Moore—an Accredited Genealogist® in the United States Midwest Region, triathlon-loving wife and mom of four teenagers, and total genealogy enthusiast.

I’ve spent over twelve years helping people uncover their roots, solve family mysteries, and make sense of the beautiful, messy stories in their DNA. For eight of those years, I worked as a research manager at Ancestry ProGenealogists, where I guided more than 800 clients in tracing their family histories across the U.S., Canada, England, and Ireland. I even got to help tell some incredible stories on the TV show Who Do You Think You Are? (Yes, it’s as fun as it sounds!)

I’m a total DNA nerd and proud of it! As a founding member of Ancestry’s unknown parentage team, I’ve helped hundreds of people find biological family and experience the healing power of connection. I also spent two years as a forensic genetic genealogist with Othram Inc., working with law enforcement to identify unknown individuals through DNA. It’s meaningful, life-changing work—and I’m honored to be part of it.

Now, I run my own business—Generations Bound—where I combine research, consulting, and education to help people like you feel confident exploring their own family stories. My approach is all about simplicity, connection, and purpose. I believe anyone can learn to "think like a genealogist"—and love their family history!

When I’m not elbow-deep in historical records or DNA matches, you’ll probably find me swimming laps in the pool, singing in the kitchen (or the car… or church), or geeking out over essential oils and natural remedies. I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I deeply believe in the power of family, faith, and healing through understanding our past.

Whether you’re looking for help solving a family mystery or just want to dip your toes into genealogy for the first time, I’d love to be part of your journey.
